OC Public Libraries Presents Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Featured Authors for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (April 30, 2024) – OC Public Libraries is thrilled to commemorate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month throughout May. This month-long celebration honors the rich cultural heritage, contributions, and stories of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. We invite the community to join us for a series of engaging events, including author talks, dual language storytimes, and crafts.

Events during Asian American and Pacific Islander Month 2024: 

Author Events

WHO:  

Jet Tila is a chef, culinary anthropologist, entrepreneur, and Food Network star. Jet has roots deeply embedded in the industry and ones that significantly establish him firmly in the artform he is most passionate about: storytelling through food. 

 

Julie Abe writes magical adventures for readers of all ages, including Eva Evergreen, Semi-Magical Witch, which was listed as a Best Middle Grade Book by Kirkus Reviews, NYPL, Bank Street, and Book Riot; Alliana, Girl of Dragons.

 

E.P. Tuazon is a Filipino American writer from Los Angeles. They have worked in several publications such as The Rumpus, Lunch Ticket, Peatsmoke, and Five South. Their work was chosen as the winner of the 2022 AWP Grace Paley Prize. 

 

Stacey Lee is the New York Times and Indie bestselling author of historical and contemporary young adult fiction, including The Downstairs Girl, a Reese's Book Club pick. She is a founding member of the We Need Diverse Books movement.
