Public Works To Hold Open House May 20 At County Facility

(ANAHEIM, CA) The County of Orange Public Works division will host an Open House and Collector Car and Motorcycle Show Saturday, May 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its Katella Yard Facility - 1750 S. Douglass Road in Anaheim near the Arrowhead Pond. The event will include equipment exhibits, displays, games, collector cars and motorcycles, and food. Chairman Bill Campbell, Orange County Board of Supervisors, is expected to be on hand for the celebration in honor of National Public Works Week, May 21-27. Neal Kelley Appointed Registrar

(Santa Ana, CA) Neal Kelley, acting Registrar of Voters since August, 2005, has been appointed as the Registrar by County Executive Officer Thomas G. Mauk. The appointment is effective today.

One Million Volunteer Service Hours Valued at $23 Million

(Santa Ana, CA) County volunteers last year contributed more than one million hours of service valued at $23 million in avoided costs for County government. To recognize that contribution, the Board of Supervisors will pay tribute to the achievements of the 25,400 volunteers at the tenth annual Countywide volunteer recognition ceremony on April 21.

County Opens Business Recovery Center

(Santa Ana, CA) The County of Orange has completed one of its early steps in the wide-ranging process of business continuity planning. A business recovery center is now open at the County's Data Center at 1400 South Grand Avenue in Santa Ana.
