Chair Coad Awards $10,500 to Orange County Students LIFE Applicants
(Santa Ana)- Cynthia P. Coad, Board of Supervisors Chair, is helping 14 students go to college. Each student will receive a Community Service Award Grant in a ceremony at 6:30 p.m., June 6, El Modena High School, 3920 Spring Street, Orange.
A total of $10,500 in Community Service Award Grants will be given to students living in the Fourth District. The winning students range in age from sixth grade to college, and the awards are from $500 to $1,500. Grants are held until students enter college or trade school and are paid directly to the institution.
"These students represent the future," said Coad. "Hopefully these grants will inspire them to continue to give back to their communities."
Coad's Community Service Award grants are given annually from an endowment established by the Coad family. Student applicants are selected for their community service efforts
