Applications Sought for Proposition 10 Orange County Children and Families Commission
(SANTA ANA) – The County of Orange is now soliciting applications for at least one existing vacancy as well as future openings on the Orange County Children and Families Commission, which has been established by the Board of Supervisors to receive and distribute revenue from Proposition 10, the voter-approved Tobacco Tax Initiative.
To qualify for membership on the Commission, an applicant must represent one of the following categories:
Local child care resource, referral agency, child care coordinating group or a local organization for the prevention or early intervention for families at risk
A community-based organization that promotes and nurtures early childhood development
Local school district or an educator specializing in early childhood development
Local medical, pediatric or obstetric association or society
Those selected to serve on the Commission will be required to file a Conflict of Interest Form 700, Statement of Economic Interest, and will be subject to the County’s gift ban ordinance.
