Report to be Released on Bacterial Pollution at Huntington Beach
(Santa Ana) - UC Irvine researchers from the Henry Samueli School of Engineering will release on January 21 the preliminary results of a study aimed at finding the causes of bacterial pollution in the water off Huntington Beach.
The study was funded by a grant from the National Water Research Institute with matching support from the County of Orange, the Orange County Sanitation District and the cities of Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach and Newport Beach.
The study was led by Dr. Stanley Grant, a professor in the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and Materials Science, and by Dr. Brett Sanders, a professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Friday morning's meeting is open to the public.
