The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) recently launched its “Text 4 Next” program which allows transit riders the ability to use their cell phones to get the next three scheduled times a bus will arrive at their stop by sending a text message to the OCTA.
(Santa Ana) Supervisor Janet Nguyen and her colleagues recently received and filed the Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act (JJCPA) annual progress report compiled by the Probation Department for Fiscal Year 2008-09. The report showed great improvement in reducing the number of juvenile repeat offenders throughout the County.

The Orange County Operational Area emergency response organization has been awarded grant funding through the Fiscal Year 2009 Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) program. Orange County’s share of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 is now estimated at more than $200 million, the largest economic benefit being the elimination of the Alternative Minimum Tax on Private Activity Bonds for the John Wayne Airport Improvement Project. This will reduce the bond expenses by up to $122.8 million.

The CMTC was formed in response to the passage of Senate Bill 731, which Gov. Schwarzenegger signed into law September 27, 2008.

Garden Grove Mayor Bill Dalton was sworn in as a new Director for the seat vacated by former Garden Grove Mayor Pro Tem Mark Rosen and Director Peter Buffa was elected Chairman.
