Orange County Designates Every April 24 as Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day

The Vice Chair Michelle Steel of the Orange County Board of Supervisors proposed a resolution that was unanimously supported by her fellow Board of Supervisors to officially designate each April 24 as Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day. The reoccurring event will be dedicated to commemorating those who perished during the Armenian Genocide from 1915 to 1923.

Dog beach may soon become official

Orange County leaders on Tuesday began paving the way for the sand bar at the mouth of the Santa Ana River to become an official dog beach.

Supervisors Vote to Lift Leash Requirement at ‘Dog Beach’

Orange County supervisors took the first step Tuesday towards repealing a decades-old, and apparently never-enforced, law requiring dogs to be leashed at a popular spot between Huntington Beach and Newport Beach, known by many as "Dog Beach."
