Dana Point Harbor is a crown jewel of the Fifth District and for the County as well. For those who are unfamiliar with the Harbor, I’d encourage you to spend an afternoon or even a weekend there. You can learn to sail, go whale watching, visit the Ocean Institute, see authentic tall ships, have a picnic, go shopping or dining at the many stores and restaurants, or simply sit and enjoy the sunset.
There are many changes taking place at the Harbor. The revitalization project, set in motion by former Supervisor Tom Wilson, is moving forward. Public input has been an important part of the process to renovate the harbor and was considered for the draft marina design. As a result, today we have a plan that reflects the combined vision for a family-friendly harbor and maintains the area's original spirit and character while planning responsibly for the future. Enhancing our Harbor is a team effort – a true partnership between the stakeholders, the City, and the County. Together we can accomplish great things in the Harbor!
