OpenIAM's Enterprise Identity and Access Management solution is the core technology supporting the implementation of Orange County's Identity Management solution (OCid). This initiative will provide a single Countywide directory of all Orange County system users, control user access to County applications and systems in a uniform manner, automate user provisioning and de-provisioning to various applications & systems, provide users with a self-service function for the ongoing maintenance of passwords and contact information, and provide regulatory compliance capabilities and reporting.
The project to implement this initiative has the support and oversight of the County IT governance groups including the Identity Management Steering Committee, Technology Council, and the IT Executive Council.
During FY 11-12, the base OpenIAM system was implemented and in use by several Agencies for directory management. During FY 12-13, the system is being upgraded and expanded to include integration with several County Enterprise applications and establish prototypes for integration with Agency Active Directory, LDAP and SAML applications.
As applications are integrated, users will have to remember fewer and fewer passwords, with the ultimate goal of "Single Sign-onβ. Key project milestones include:
Deploy upgraded OCid Enterprise Infrastructure

CAPS+ HR to OCid Data Interface
