IT Support Intern - County Executive Office (unpaid internship)

Functions of Agency/Department:
The role of the Office of the CIO is to assist the Board of Supervisors and County management and employees in utilizing information technology to improve service to the public and operate in a more efficient manner.
The Office of the CIO collaborates with County business partners to ensure that the needs of County constituents are met through the implementation of strategic Information Technology initiatives. Initiatives that are currently underway include; eGovernment, Identity Management, Mobile Device Management, Cloud Computing and Enterprise Architecture.
Intern Duties/Responsibilities:
In support of Information Technology programs, duties may include developing Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and formatting documents using the Microsoft Office Suite; completing Information Technology (IT) research assignments and compiling data; and assisting with meeting preparation and coordination.
Education Requirements:
This position is best suited for students or recent graduates majoring in Computer Information Systems or Business Administration.
Skills, Training or Qualifications:
Ideal candidates must be experienced in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio). They must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to research technical information and prepare reports. Professional appearance and business attire required.
Time Commitment:
Minimum 10 - 16 hours per week for 3 - 6 months. Hours must be scheduled Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Applicants able to schedule the maximum hours/duration listed for this internship typically gain a more in-depth experience.
