Functions of Agency/Department:
The County Procurement Office reports to the County Executive Office on implementation of Board of Supervisors policy pertaining to county procurement in order to maintain a procurement process which is competitive, fair and efficient. The division ensures safeguards for maintaining a procurement system of quality and integrity in order to obtain the most value for public funds and provide quality service and education through effective teamwork and communication.
Intern Duties/Responsibilities:
Interns will assist in promoting, developing and implementing the policies, programs and initiatives of the County Procurement Office.
Education Requirements:
Internship is best suited for college students or recent graduates with backgrounds in Public Administration, Political Science, Social Ecology, Public Policy or related fields.
Time Commitment:
Flexible schedules are available that consist of 8 - 15 hours per week for 1 or 2 semesters/quarters. Hours may be scheduled Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Applicants able to schedule the maximum hours/duration listed for this internship typically gain a more in-depth experience.
