August 18, 2014  Dana Point Harbor Cleanup & Cigarette Butt Roundup on Sept. 20OC Dana Point Harbor is preparing for the 30th annual California Coastal Cleanup Day, part of the International Coastal Cleanup, the largest volunteer effort on the planet. The event will be held Saturday, September 20, in conjunction with the 12th Biannual Dana Point Harbor Underwater Cleanup and annual Cigarette Butt Roundup. New this year will be an On-the-Water Cleanup administered from kayaks and dinghies.
August 11, 2014  OC’s 125th Birthday Chronicled in Exhibits and OnlineThe Old Orange County Courthouse is pleased to present "Orange County Circa 1889," a collection of historic photographic work taken 125 years ago documenting the founding year of Orange County's birth. The exhibit will run through October 10, 2014. Also at the Old Courthouse is “Celebrate OC,” describing the County’s separation from Los Angeles County. It will run through the end of the year.
August 7, 2014  County Prevails in Lawsuit Challenging Fire Funds RebateAn Orange County Superior Court judge has invalidated a plan by the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) to redirect revenues paid to the Authority for fire protection, delivering a victory to County attorneys who claimed the payments constituted a gift of public funds.
